Value for Price – 4.0
Video Quality – 4.0
Ease of Use – 5.0
Compatibility – 3.0
What’s great about it: Easy, Easy, Easy, and Easy….did I mention easy?
What’s not so great: Not as compatible as it claims
First things first, the price was good and that’s really a big chunk of why I bought the Creative webcam in the first place. I thought I’d give it a try and, if I didn’t like it, I could always return it and opt for something a little pricier.
When I got it home, I had a look at the installation instructions and figured that they must have been joking. It seemed too easy. But, I did what they said to do and the whole process went through like a breeze. Worked on the first try, was quick and I’ve never seen easier. It’s not just the installation that’s easy, either. You know those original portable MP3 players, with the 100 functions and only 3 buttons. I could never get one of those things to work. Them I bought one of the popular ones with all the commands on the dial. The difference was amazing. Both machines do the same thing, but one might as well be from Mars and the other practically runs itself.
I had the same sensation working with this webcam. It is just too easy to use. The only problem I really came across was trying to install it on the new laptop I got my daughter for school. It runs on Vista and I couldn’t get the camera installed. I am still not sure if the problem is compatibility or if I am doing something wrong, but it’s the only complaint I have.

What’s great about it: Excellent video for a great price. No complaints there.
What’s not so great: If you’re a “feature freak”, look elsewhere
Okay, I have to say it, I loved the name.I know it sounds stupid, but that’s seriously what first caught my attention. Plus, I thought the Boynq would look good with my system. I know, I know, that makes my look like a total loser, amateur, but really, I’m not. Just being honest.
The fact is that I know what I’m looking for when it comes to my computer. I’m a pretty straightforward guy. When I go to the mall to buy jeans, I buy jeans. If I buy a mobile phone it’s a sure bet that I want to make phone calls. And, if I am going to buy a webcam, it’s because I want it to do what a webcam is supposed to do, I want it to do what it claims to do and I want it to do those things well. It’s simple, to the point and the Boynq gave me exactly what I was looking for. It didn’t make a lot of wild claims but lived up to the ones it did make. It captures great video and images, much better than I would have expected even if I’d have paid twice the price. I am more than happy with my choice.

What’s great about it: Super easy to work with
What’s not so great: It’s not as compatible as it claims to be
For what I do, this LifeCam is perfect. I found it way easier than my last couple of webcams to install and get up and running. Sure, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that a lot of the other cams are shouting about but I never went much for that kind of smoke and mirrors. I always figured it for a sure sign that they are trying to cover up some other shortcoming. This cam is straight-forward and delivers on its promises.
In the case of this camera, the only shortcoming that I ran across wasn’t actually my own. I have a friend whose son is studying out of state. He’s pretty green when it comes to technology so I’ve been helping him set up his computer to talk with his son via Skype. When we tried hooking up my LifeCam to do a test run, I couldn’t get it to work and couldn’t figure out why at first. It took me a bit of time to nail down, but it turns that the camera isn’t completely compatible with the Vista that my friend has installed on his system. For my comp, with XP, I have no complaints at all. The cam works like a dream.

What´s great about it: Great video in bad lighting, easy to travel with
What’s not so great: I found the installation a bit complicated. Took me two tries!
I have to say that I don’t normally fill in these kinds of product reviews but in this case I decided to make an exception. I was really impressed with the quality of video that I was able to capture with the LifeCam. I work from home and tend to leave my office pretty dimly lit. The problem is that I do a lot of video conferencing with clients, via Skype and other services, and it’s important for my business that my clients have a good first impression of my technological capabilities. Like all you home-pros know, bad hardware is the first sign of bad service. With this cam, I’ve got no worries and don’t have to run around turning on lights before answering client calls. It’s made my life so much easier.
Something else that is important to me is that I do a fair amount of work on the road as well, and this gear is perfectly adapted to my laptop. It’s not too clunky, attaches nicely to the screen and guarantees that my clients are still seeing the same level of technological competency regardless of the venue.
Like I said, I don’t usually bother with these types of reviews, but after getting burned on the promises of so many other cams in the last little while, I was seriously and pleasantly surprised by this cam’s performance.
