If you are looking for a new webcam you might want to stick with a brand that has been making them for quite awhile, such as Logitech. The brand is well known in this field of technology and released the QuickCam Ultra Vision Special Edition. This is a reasonably affordable web cam that is in the $100 to $150 price range. This is a higher end web cam, so the price range is not unrealistic.
This camera features a 1.3 megapixel sensor that enables high resolution video and still images of up to four megapixels to be taken. The unit also offers built in RightLight 2 technology, which provides the settings that are needed in low light conditions. This technology is known to help create very balanced images.
The great thing about this web cam is that it supports any video chatting applications. It is also very simple to upload the videos that are taken to online blogs or video sharing websites, such as YouTube. This is not one of the cheapest webcams on the market, but it does take clear and crisp pictures and videos and is very versatile, allowing for you to easily switch from still pictures to video. A great purchase that features a two year warranty.
Microsoft LifeCam VX-500
If you are looking for a no frills web cam that will allow you to do a wide variety of things, the Microsoft LifeCam VX-500 may be just what you are looking for. In fact, of all of the budget cams on the market this is considered one of the better options. The image and sound quality are not bad for a web cam that runs in the $30 range. What allows for this camera to stand out is that it is a built in microphone, a flexible and adjustable stand, and is able to connect to laptops as well as desk top.
While a great option for the budget conscious, you should be aware that this web cam is very basic and the focus cannot be adjusted. It features a .13 megapixel sensor for still shots and is known to perform relatively well even in low light conditions where comparable models don’t perform well at all.
The pros associated with this web cam are the low price, the built in microphone, and a unique stand. The cons are a fixed focus lens, bundled software that some do not like, and some difficulty attaching the web cam to laptops. Overall this is a very good buy for those who are looking for a budget friendly web cam that will perform well.
iPhone 3GS Review
The iPhone hit the market and became and instant favorite among smart phone users who had previously found that other models did not fulfill all of their needs. The iPhone 3GS is an update of the original and has more people than ever before considering the iPhone.
Some of the exciting things about this model is that the phone has multimedia messaging allowing for picture texts, video recording, as well as voice dialing. Those who upgraded from the previous model notice that the phone runs much faster, and the battery life is much longer. The overall quality of the multimedia offerings are what often set this phone apart from other smart phones.
ATT has reported that the call quality would be improved with this model, but most consumers don’t find this to be the case. It has also been found that the 3G signal is spotty at best. USB transfer and storage are still not options and multitasking is still not available, things that most iPhone users would like to see added.
The iPhone 3G is not a huge upgrade, but some users are finding that the better battery life is worth the upgrade. The speed of this model is also much improved, although most iPhone users will still say that there are many things they would like to see added to the phone in the future.
A great camera but probably isn’t good enough for Music Videos though.

Model: 960-000111 | SKU: 8472468
Value for Price – 3.5
Video Quality – 4.5
Ease of Use – 3.0
Compatibility – 4.0
What’s great about it: The video features are better than any I’ve seen.
What’s not so great: Could be a litle easier to set up
Okay, so I figured I would take a chance. I have to admit that the price was a little higher than I was looking for, but a buddy recommended the Logitech Quickcam and it looked pretty good in the store, so I took a leap of faith and picked it up.
I’m not much of a tech guy, to be honest. The fact is that without someone walking me through, I can be pretty useless with new gadgets. In the case of this webcam, I was a little out of my league in the whole set up and had to ask my buddy to come over and bail me out. For him, it turned out to be no problem at all.
Once I got the thing running, I started playing around with it, seeing what it could do. Seriously, I was impressed with what this webcam does. My old cam was basically just computer furniture. This one is fantastic. I don’t have to worry about the lights or even the position of the camera because it completely self-adjusts. For a newbie like me, this is the perfect setup, definitely well worth the money I paid and bullet I had to bite asking my friend for help in the setup. It’s got my approval.
